City of Allen, Texas

Established in 1870 as a railroad, legend has it that Allen was the site of the first armed train robbery in the state of Texas. Today the Dallas suburb located between Plano and McKinney is home to a diverse group of approximately 75,000 residents the most famous being Olympic Gold Medalist Carly Patterson.
 
Allen school district boasts highly rated schools and are continuing to add new campuses each year to support their rapid growth. The district philosophy is K-6 in elementary, 7-8 in middle and the Lowery Freshman Center for 9th graders. They pool all of their talent into one, large 5A school for 10-12 to form Allen High School.
 
Allen is one of the more accessible cities in Collin County with Highway 121 as the northern border and Highway 75 splitting it down the middle. Allen, Plano, Frisco and McKinney actually come to four corners located at Highway 121 and Custer Road. You can literally leave the center of Allen and be in any one of these 3 cities in 15 minutes or less.
 
There are a variety of homes available in Allen. New developments west of Highway 75 offer master planned living starting in the mid $300's all the way up to $1 million. The east side of Allen also continues to grow with new home prices ranging from the mid $100's to mid $400's.
